Up to 90% of pregnant women get stretch marks during pregnancy, usually during the third trimester and sometimes earlier. It can be due to genetics, excessive weight gain in a short period or overly dry and stretching skin. They affect women of all ages, sizes and ethnic backgrounds. They affect men, adolescents and non-pregnant women as well.
Stretch marks or striae are a form of scarring caused by tearing in the dermal layer of the skin.
The most common sites to be affected by stretch marks include the abdomen, breasts, thighs or buttocks. Stretch marks are often the result of the rapid stretching of the skin associated with weight gain (e.g. pregnancy, obesity) or rapid growth (e.g. puberty) or sickness (e.g. cushing’s disease). They usually emerge as purple or reddish marks that fade to shallow gray or white scars.

If Remescar Stretch Marks is being used on the breasts while breastfeeding it’s advised to wait 30 minutes after applying the product and respect the basic hygiene before every feeding.

No, Remescar Stretch Marks doesn’t contain any SPF factors. However, once the product is dry, you may apply sunscreen for protection. Sunlight typically makes scars worse so we always recommend using at least SPF15 sunscreen.
The treatment efficacy depends on the severity of the tear of the inner layers of the skin, therefore we advise to continue using the product as it might be that some stretch marks may need more time to heal.
Several clinical trials demonstrated Remescar Stretch Marks’ efficacy. There were several measuring points that were taking into account in the studies (one after 28 days and one after 56 days). One of these studies showed that 30% of the patients has a decrease in appearance of 50%.
It is advisable to first apply Remescar Stretch Marks and allow the product to form a protective film over and around the affected area, which ensures a prolonged contact time of the product. Once the skin is completely dry you can apply other skin products.
